Born in 1892 in Ukrain, Kramer moved to England in 1900 settling in a Jewish colony in Leeds.Studying at Manchester School of Art, Sir MichaelSadler became his patron and he moved in 1013 to study at the Slade. Kramer showed with the Vorticists in London and became a member of the LG. Kramer's sister, Sarah, married the artist William Roberts. Kramer has always been associated with Yorkshire and was elected President of the Leeds Fine Arts Club. Kramer had a retrospective at Leeds City Art Gallery. He also had several shows at Parkin and Belgrave Galleries. The Tate, V&A and British Museum hold his work. Kramer died in 1962.
