SAUTER, Rudolph
Rudolph Helmut Sauter was born in 1895 and studied art in London and Munich. He illustrated an edition of works by the novelist John Galsworthy, his uncle. Showed at RA, RI, the Pastel Society and in the provinces aswell as in Paris Salon and widely in America. Sauter had a one man show in London and New York. National Portrait Gallery, Royal West of England Academy and Ferens Art Gallery in Hull hold examples of his work. He died in 1977.
