Spender was born in 1910 and was a Fellow of the Society of Industrial Artists and Designers and an Honoury Designer at the RCA. He exhibited at the Redfern and Leicester Galleries and his commissions included the Festival of Britain, British Rail and Shell. Represented in numerous public collections. Spender died in 2005.
