HILL, Adrian
Hill was born in 1895 in Charlton, Kent and studied at St John's Wood School of Art and then the Royal College of Art. During WW1 he was an official war artist producing outstanding pictures of the front line, now represented in the Imperial War Museum. His work is also in the V&A. He taught at Hornsey College and exhibited widely at the RA, RBA, NEAC, RHA and ROI. He has always been celebrated for his extraordinary technical draughtsmanship combined with loose washes to depict the most dramatic images. Commercially, the quality of his work and career has meant he is now receiving alot of interest. Hill died in 1977.
